Mandela8 are pleased to reveal the Mandela Field of Hope in Princes Park. We are delighted to be working with Polly Moseley and Richard Scott and Friends of Princes Park to realise this wildflower dream. We walked around the park socially distanced to visualise this and agree the plans last year. Thanks to LCVS and Torus Group for your support.
A huge thank you to Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and Michelle Cox for the wonderful gift of Beebombs for Princes Park to celebrate Mandela Day. We are arranging with Friends of Princes Park and Windsor Community Primary School to plant them; thank you to Michelle and the 3 volunteers and its great to see diversity in the Clatterbridge workforce.
We have flowers of South African origin that Gardener Fergus Garrett has gifted for local community. Seed is precious, so needs to be sown on weed-free compost and grown in a sunny spot, and sown quickly we can later plant these out and add to the beauty of the sown wildflower seed on Princes Park.
If you have capacity to grow some in a sunny space in pots, indoor until it warms up, and will then join a group planting out in Princes Park at the beginning of June. Please email bloom@scouseflowerhouse.com with your contact details. We will distribute the seed at the Sunburst Gates of Princes Park on 2 occasions week commencing 10th May and deliver where necessary with some growing tips.
Thank you Mandela8, Great Dixter and Friends of Princes Park.
